CHALLENGES OF DISABILITIES PEOPLE

The PWDs in this community are marginalized and majority are very poor, living below poverty line which is below US$ 1.Their poverty analyzed in four categories/dimensions;

1. Economic dimension: The PWDs are not having modern skills to improve them life standards. They have no assets e.g Property (Land), houses, cattle etc. The disabilities have hampered them to achieve their desire development goals.

2. Social dimension: The PWDs are not educated because the community was not public disclosed, unfriendly infrastructure; facilities and social exclusion are factors that contributed to poor environment for them acquire education. Gender inequality was also practiced with same of community members.

3. Cultural dimension: Some cultural and traditional customs were binding PWDs to be enrolled in school. Some of the community members believe that it misfortune/course to bear child with disabilities. Therefore PWDs are stigmatized because of their nature.

4. Political dimension: The Government has no political will for PWDs in terms good policies and laws that safe guard them. Therefore all four dimensions/factors mentioned above causes PWDs to become very poor. So the current situation of (PWDs) is;

i) Lack of modern skills of horticulture (garden).
ii) Lack of resource of fund and donors
iii) Lack of entrepreneurship skills
iv) Lack of land
v) Lack of capital
vi) Illiteracy
